A Trip To Japan
A Web Quest for
Seventh Grade Social Studies students
You are to learn about the country's culture as well as its historical and geographic background. It is your job to present a plan mapping out your entire trip to Japan.
1) You will be broken down into groups of 2 or 3.
2) Your first task will be to find out about the background of Japan. This should just be an overview of the country itself. It should include information on the following: geography, basic history, religion, culture and any other type of information that you may see as important in gaining a better understanding of the nation of Japan. You will find all of the information for this paper in the links that are provided in the Student Background Information section.
3) Your next task is to create a detailed map of Japan and its surrounding areas. You will find useful information for creating your map in your textbook as well as in the Student Background Information section.
4) Your final task is to create a trip plan. You will present your final plan to the class. Your plan should be clearly written. You should be as creative as possible when designing the plan. Your plan must include the following information:
Dates
of the trip
Passport Information
Flight Information (Including prices)
Lodging Information (Including prices)
Calendar (Upcoming Major Japanese Events/Holidays)
Food
Entertainment
Major Sightseeing Attractions
Transportation Options
Tours
Etiquette
5) You will have several class periods to work on the web quest. You will present your final itinerary and map to the class. Make sure to look at the Scoring Rubric that I will be using in grading your final projects.
